Quick answer
What should I know before renting bare metal from Lumenfer?
Lumenfer rents current-generation bare metal for crypto with no KYC: a 2022+ CPU, DDR5 and NVMe on every plan. Prices: $91.65 to $749.67 for each 30 days, setup included. You pay in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, never show an ID, and log in as root over SSH. A person builds each server by hand, so delivery takes hours, not seconds.
What is Lumenfer in one paragraph?
Lumenfer rents current-generation bare-metal servers in Amsterdam, Reykjavik, Zurich and Bucharest, paid in crypto with no KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents. Every machine has a CPU launched in 2022 or later, DDR5 memory and NVMe drives, and is rented whole by one customer with root access. It is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a Panama company that ignores DMCA notices, answers only to Panamanian law, allows Tor exit relays and keeps no logs. On the 30-day term, every plan is priced at least 25% under a named comparable current-generation server from 13 no-KYC crypto hosts, read on 30 October 2026.
In Lumenfer's check of 30 October 2026, 12 of 18 no-KYC crypto hosts sold their cheapest dedicated server on a CPU launched before 2022. That gap is why the range starts at 2022, and why we do not claim to be the cheapest at every size: those older machines often cost less. Prices, hardware and the named reference of each plan are on the pricing page.
Hardware
What does "current-generation" mean at Lumenfer?
It means a CPU launched in 2022 or later, DDR5 memory and NVMe drives, with no exceptions. The EPYC 9004 chips, AMD EPYC 9254 and AMD EPYC 9354, date from 2022. The AMD EPYC 4244P, AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X date from 2024. No plan uses DDR4, SATA SSDs or hard disks.
Is DDR5 worth it on a dedicated server?
Yes for memory-bound work such as databases, analytics and large builds, where bandwidth sets the pace. Channel count matters as much as the DDR generation. AMD lists two DDR5 channels on the three smaller plans and twelve on the EPYC 9004 plans, rated at 460.8 GB/s per socket. The details are in Is DDR5 worth paying for on a rented dedicated server?
Do I need ECC RAM on a dedicated server?
For databases, storage and long-running VMs, ECC is the safer choice, because it corrects single-bit memory errors. At Lumenfer the three EPYC plans have it: 32 GB DDR5 ECC, 256 GB DDR5 ECC and 384 GB DDR5 ECC. The Ryzen plans list 64 GB DDR5 and 128 GB DDR5 without ECC. See Do I need ECC RAM on a rented dedicated server?
Is NVMe much faster than SATA SSD on a dedicated server?
Yes. A SATA SSD sits behind a 6 Gbit/s SATA link. An NVMe drive talks to the CPU over PCIe lanes, and AMD lists PCIe 5.0 on every CPU in the range. Every Lumenfer plan ships two NVMe drives, mirrored in software RAID 1 by default. The comparison is in How much faster is NVMe than SATA SSD in dedicated server hosting?
How many CPU cores do I need on a dedicated server?
Count the threads your busiest hour really uses, then add headroom. A single web app or small database fits on 6 or 8 cores. CI runners and game-server fleets use 16. Proxmox hosts and large databases want 24 or 32. Lumenfer sells exactly those five sizes, and How many CPU cores do I need on a rented dedicated server? works through each.
What is AMD EPYC 4004, and is it just a Ryzen?
It is AMD's entry server line, close to a desktop Ryzen in its platform. AMD lists the AMD EPYC 4244P of Lumen 6 with 6 cores, two DDR5 channels up to 5200 MT/s, PCIe 5.0 x28 and 65 W. Lumenfer pairs it with 32 GB DDR5 ECC. The full comparison is on What is AMD EPYC 4004, and is it just a Ryzen in a server?
Can I rent an EPYC 9005, Intel Xeon 6 or Ryzen X3D server here?
No. Lumenfer sells EPYC 9004, EPYC 4004 and Ryzen 9000 chips only. Other hosts rent the rest, and our pages say where: EPYC 9004 and 9005, Xeon 6 and Core Ultra and Ryzen X3D for game hosting.
Where can I find dedicated server benchmarks?
Not from Lumenfer: it runs no benchmark of its own and prints no speed figure. AMD's specification pages give clocks, cache and memory channels for each CPU. To measure a machine yourself, follow Where can I find honest benchmarks for dedicated server hosting?, which lists the tools and the method.
Ordering, payment and delivery
Can I rent a Ryzen or EPYC dedicated server with crypto?
Yes. Every Lumenfer plan runs a Ryzen or EPYC CPU and is paid in crypto, with no ID at any step. 13 of the 18 crypto hosts in our check sold 2022+ CPUs at all. They are compared in Can I rent a Ryzen or EPYC dedicated server with crypto and no KYC?
Which cryptocurrencies can I pay with?
The accepted coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; a top-up starts at $25. There is no Monero or Lightning option. Every incoming payment is screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses, and a payment from a listed address is not credited.
Do I need to show an ID or give an email?
No. No KYC: we never ask for an ID, a selfie, documents, a card or a phone number. Your login is an account number; adding an email is up to you. The account number is your only login, so keep it safe. An optional email lets you recover it; without one, a lost number cannot be recovered.
How soon after paying is the server ready?
Up to 72 hours from the moment your payment is confirmed. Servers are prepared by a person once your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours rather than instantly; the dashboard shows progress and then the IP address when the machine is ready. Most hosts in our check promise faster: their stated median is 24 hours.
Can I pay for 3, 6 or 12 months at once?
Yes, at 10%, 20% and 30% off. Lumen 16: $205.27 per 30 days, $985.29 per half year, $1724.26 per year. No setup fee: an order costs exactly the price of its term, and so does every renewal.
Is there a free trial, and what happens if my balance runs out?
There is no free trial; the entry plan, Lumen 6, is $91.65 for 30 days. Each server is paid in advance from your crypto balance for 30 days, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, whichever term you pick when ordering. Auto-renew charges the same term again at the price you ordered at, or the term you set in your dashboard for the next renewal; when the balance falls short, the server stops at the end of its term, its drives are held for 7 days and then erased. The credit rules for downtime are in the refund policy.
Running workloads
Can I install Proxmox and build a cluster?
Yes. The checkout offers Debian 13, Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, AlmaLinux 10, Rocky Linux 10 and Proxmox VE 9, so a server can arrive with Proxmox VE installed. Proxmox's own guide asks for at least three nodes for reliable quorum and under 5 ms of latency between them. Rent all nodes in one city. The setup is in How do I build a Proxmox cluster with rented dedicated servers?; Kubernetes is in How do I run Kubernetes on bare metal servers?
Is a dedicated server cheaper than GitHub-hosted runners for CI?
It is once your pipelines run a few hours a day: on GitHub's 16-core runners the crossover is around 5,000 minutes a month, because a rented server costs the same whether it is busy or idle. Below that, per-minute runners win. The break-even depends on your minutes per month and the runner size. It is worked through in Is a rented dedicated server cheaper than GitHub-hosted runners for CI?
What is the best CPU for a Minecraft server host?
A high single-core clock matters more than core count, because a Minecraft server does most of its world work on one main thread. Among Lumenfer plans the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X has the highest boost clock, 5.7 GHz per AMD. All images are Linux, so Windows-only game servers will not run. More in What is the best CPU for a Minecraft server host?
Is bare metal cheaper than the cloud?
For steady, round-the-clock load it usually is. You pay for the whole machine once a month instead of per hour, and traffic up to the allowance is included. For short or spiky jobs the cloud can cost less. The comparison is in Is bare metal cheaper than the cloud?
Access and rules
Is there an IPMI console, backup or DDoS protection?
No to all three. There is no IPMI or KVM-over-IP console for customers: you request reboots and reinstalls in the dashboard and the team performs them. Backups are not included: keep copies of your data somewhere else. DDoS protection is limited to whatever the datacenter network applies by default; nothing further is promised.
What is not allowed, and how are DMCA notices and Tor handled?
Not allowed: spam or bulk email, phishing, malware or botnet control, DDoS or any other attack, scanning or brute-forcing systems you do not own, booter or stresser services, carding or fraud, child sexual abuse material, cryptocurrency mining, and serving sanctioned people or companies. Outbound SMTP on port 25 is blocked on every server and is never unblocked; submission ports 465 and 587 to mail providers remain open. DMCA notices and other foreign copyright notices are not acted on: only Panamanian law and orders of Panamanian courts bind us. Tor relays of every kind are permitted: exit relays, middle relays and bridges. The full text is the acceptable use policy.
